Fantastic February Finds!

Let's talk indie games!

Hello indie gaming friends!

February was a pretty laid back month for indie game releases, so I hope you got a chance to discover something special from your backlog.

Did you know that How Long to Beat has HowLongToBeat Your Steam Collection? It lets you put in your Steam ID and returns how long each game in your library is.

I was looking for something short to play and it definitely delivered for this month's game. I had forgotten I even owned it! Check it out and let me know what treasure you find in your own Steam Library.

Recently I've been playing... LumbearJack

Forest News are reporting that an Evil corporation are getting their bulldozers ready! And you know what they say, you can't stop progress... or can you?

Get your axe ready, because it's time to get chopping!

Jack is just a simple bear. He wants to keep his friends safe and restore their home to its former glory. To complete each level, you'll need to smash away anything man made with your axe. Every piece gets recycled and contributes to making an even bigger axe, so you can chop the bigger objects.

Even though this game is full of destruction, it's actually quite relaxing. I enjoyed helping out Jack's furry friends and also restoring the environment. It reminded me of a more simple version of Terra Nil.

Each level of LumbearJack takes about 5 mins or so to complete and the game is around 2 hours long. So it's great for small gaming sessions.

I played LumbearJack on Steam, but it's also available on Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

February New Releases!

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

Travel back to an unforgettable summer in 95. Make ever lasting friendships, form a band and document it all.

The perfect summer. Except for that event they all promised to forget.

Lost Records gives me big Now and Then in the 90s vibes. Kids hanging out and having fun, until they stumble upon a mystery.

Part 1 is out now, with Part 2 coming in April.

Cinnabunny

Run a bakery as an adorable bunny. Enough said, right?

Cinnabunny is a charming life sim with couch 'co-hop' where you get to bake, go bird watching, and forage for mushrooms.

It's not all cookies and cakes though. You're running your bakery to save enough money to help your family leave their drought stricken home.

Cabernet

Liza is a newly turned vampire and it's up to you to guide her through this transition. Will you try and keep your humanity or embrace the darkness.

I have been a vampire fan since getting introduced to Dracula, Buffy and Lestat as a teen, so this looks like a fun time!

Less than 10 - Berry Berry Festival

Did you know that the majority of games released each week have less than 10 reviews? That is hundreds of games with reduced visibility on Steam! Let's change that with this featured game.

Berry Berry Festival is such an adorable adventure! This year is the year where Sophie will be the Berry Berry Harvest Champion. She's been waiting for this day to come around again so she can finally beat Barry!

But first, she'll need to actually collect some berries. Go adventuring around town, looking for berries, playing with friends and helping out some of the townsfolk.

I had a lot of fun exploring the village and trying to beat Barry at, well, everything. Sophie will be the Berry Berry Harvest Champion! 🫐🫐

Berry Berry Festival is a great cozy, single session game. Available on Steam.

Do you know a game with less than 10 reviews? Reply and tell me about it!

One last thing!

I regularly post on Bsky. Are you over there too? Be sure to follow me for even more indie gaming discussion, and check out my combat-free games starter park to find some awesome accounts to follow.

You've made it to the end of the newsletter! Have you found something excellent to play this month? Let me know what it was!

Until next time,

Sarah

Let's talk indie games! Hello indie gaming friends!Hope you've all had a great start to the year and managed to tackle some of that ever-growing game backlog! I've been a bit out of the loop after going on holiday in January - As well as playing quite a bit of Infinity Nikki - So, I’m excited to dive back in and see what’s been happening in the indie gaming world. Reply and let me know. I'd also love to know what you think of the newsletter. One thing I've been wondering is when in the month is best to send it out. Let's talk indie games! Hello indie gaming friends!October was a pretty relaxed gaming month for me. I am part of two monthly gaming clubs, Geeks and Grounds and The Cozy Gaming Club (Discord link), but for October I wasn't playing either of their games. One I wasn't interested in (Signalis - let me know if you think I should play it) and the other I've already played (Night in the Woods), so this meant I was free to play whatever I liked. As I'm sure you know, sometimes making a decision...
