Hi, I'm Sarah! I've been excited about indie games for years now, and it was such an eye-opening experience to find so many different types of games to play. There's literally something for everyone!

Let's talk indie games!
Hello indie game fans! March has only just begun, but it's looking like a huge month for indie game releases! It was incredibly difficult to choose only three, but these are the ones I'm looking forward to the most.
As for last month, I've been struggling with a shoulder injury which unfortunately starts to ache when playing games with keyboard and mouse. Luckily, I have a controller, but of course I was drawn to games that prefer keyboard and mouse like A Little to the Left and Minami Lane! It's always the way.
I did push through and complete Minami Lane because it is such a cool mini builder game, and also it's chapter based, so I could play in smaller chunks. Do you have any favourite games that can be played over shorter sessions?
Not to be deterred by this injury, I did spend many hours playing this months featured game, though...
Recently I've been playing... Islets
Iko is off on an adventure to become a brave warrior! Except, well, it's not really going so well. He hasn't actually fought any bad guys and maybe he should just give up and go home. Or at least that's what his nemesis Snoot (what a jerk) tells him he should do. Right before ruining his plane and making him crash land on an island.
That's ok though. The island is what we've been looking for! The world as Iko knows it has been separated into five islands, and he (and all the other warriors) is trying to find the magnetic cores to reunite the islands and bring balance back to the world.
Islets is an excellent metroidvania with a huge world to explore and charming characters to meet. I didn't realise how much I had missed playing a good 2D platformer metroidvania until I started uncovering the world of Islets.
Note that this is not a combat free game. It has many enemies and quite a lot of boss fights, but there are also difficulty settings, so you can make it easier if exploration is what you're here for.
If, like me, you're (im)patiently waiting for Silksong to be released, this is a fantastic game to play for that Hollow Knight feel, and definitely brings a lot to the genre.
Could this alien planet be your new home? It's supposed to be vibrant and lush, but something has gone wrong!
Harness the power of plants to restore the environment in this cozy management sim.
The demo for Distant Bloom is still available to play now!
Less than 10 - Monument Village
Did you know that the majority of games released each week have less than 10 reviews? That is hundreds of games with reduced visibility on Steam! Let's change that with this featured game.
Monument Village is a charming turn-based city builder. You start with an uninhabited island and can place one building per turn. Each building has perks and penalties depending on placement. Resources are scarce, so smart placement is key!
Your land doesn't come for free, though. Tessa has granted you this land in return for providing her with resources whenever she requires them. If you're unable to fulfil these quests, Tessa kicks you out!! Fortunately, the dev has added a "Peaceful" mode which is basically a sandbox mode. No letters from Tessa and no losing. Much more relaxing.
Monument Village is available on Steam, and there is a demo available too.
Do you know a game with less than 10 reviews? Reply and tell me about it!
You've made it to the end of the newsletter! There are heaps of games I didn't get to mention in this months newsletter. Do you have a favourite upcoming release I didn't mention?

Let's talk indie games! Hello indie gaming friends!October was a pretty relaxed gaming month for me. I am part of two monthly gaming clubs, Geeks and Grounds and The Cozy Gaming Club (Discord link), but for October I wasn't playing either of their games. One I wasn't interested in (Signalis - let me know if you think I should play it) and the other I've already played (Night in the Woods), so this meant I was free to play whatever I liked. As I'm sure you know, sometimes making a decision...
Let's talk indie games! G'day indie game fans!Did you know I'm Australian? No? I'm Australian! We have a small, but mighty game industry and this week is Melbourne International Games Week, which celebrates all things Australian gaming. It also happens to include PAX AUS. The ultimate celebration of games! Like many of you (I'm assuming), I'm not enjoying the fun in Melbourne this week, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun too! Instead of sharing new releases this month, I thought I'd...
Let's talk indie games! Hello indie game fans!Have you seen the Steam Summer Sale?! I'm sure we all have. Over the weekend I made the mistake of checking out my Steam wishlist to see what was on sale. It felt like everything was on sale and I got a bit of decision paralysis. So, I thought for this month I'd focus on games I love that are currently discounted on Steam, and hopefully you'll find something new to love! Which brings me to my favourite game of last month! Recently I've been...
